Cultivating Creativity in Univerities, Enhancing Student Employability 

 

The aim of this webinar is to explore faculty awareness on the importance of creativity, to identify and discuss possible pedagogies and teaching approaches including any difficulties associated with teaching for creativity. Furthermore, to discuss ways of how to initiate the creation of partnerships with the industry, on matters of common interest, and employability skills.

By the end of this learning session, participants will be able to:
1. Form awareness about the importance of creativity in universities.
2. Informed about possible obstacles and how to overcome them when teaching for creativity.
3. Share information about creative teaching techniques that will enhance the learning capapilities and development of our students.

Biography

Dr. Despina Varnava-Marouchou is an assistant professor at the European University Cyprus. She has a Doctoral in Education with special reference to Business Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK. She has presented and written many papers on issues regarding Education and Business, most specifically, on student learning and teaching in Universities. Dr D.V.Marouchou has won several funded research projects and she is currently the Coordinator of a European funded project entitled, ‘Teaching for Creativity in Higher Education’
